Hi! I am Sarah, a certified/registered occupational therapist who provides occupational therapy services to children just outside of Seattle, Wa. I am now offering workshops to support families who have found their child who is over 3 years old on a long occupational therapy waiting list, need some support to navigate difficulties with daily routines with their child, and want to learn more about the sensory system. This workshop will also benefit teachers, those who want a refresher on how to support kids who struggle with emotional regulation, attention and sensory difficulties. Find out more about who I am and my experience in the About section.
Caregiver Sensory and Behavior Workshop –
Supporting and Empowering Caregivers with Strategies that Address Attention, Emotional Regulation, and Sensory Processing
Virtual or in-person workshop with Q & A
I have found that so much of the advice I provide families overlaps and I often have clients struggling on common areas such as emotional meltdowns and sensory concerns. In this workshop I will offer helpful advice and ideas for you to try at home, you will be able to ask me direct questions about your child and receive real-time problem solving. You will be able to connect with other families who are having similar experiences, which can be so vital in your caregiving journey.
You will be guided through 8 different sensory systems and gain a better understanding of what difficulties with sensory processing might look like as well as how sensory rich environments affect all of us. You will have the opportunity to fill out a sensory questionnaire and general questionnaire about your child.
I know, as a parent and through experience working with so many different children, that one size DOES NOT fit all. As we work through the information presented each week, there will be 45+ minutes at the end of each call for you to ask me a question with real-time problem solving! You will go home with things to try each week! Even if you do not ask a question, I guarantee the question and answer portion of the call will be helpful for everyone!
If you opt to participate in the virtual workshop, you can access this workshop wherever you are as long as you have access to the internet.
This workshop is designed to be spread over two sessions that are two hours each, however can be scheduled as one long workshop.
I am so excited to meet you all and talk about your amazing children!
